Data Protection for CiviCRM developers and users

Speaker(s):
Paul Ticher

All organisations have Data Protection responsibilities, and much of the relevant data is likely to be stored in CiviCRM. As a developer, if you are aware of the Data Protection requirements you can do a lot to help your clients comply with the minimum of fuss. As a user, you must understand what you can and can't record, what you are allowed to do with your data - especially if you want to carry out any marketing or promotion - and how to ensure that you use CiviCRM securely.

This session gives an overview of the whole Data Protection picture, and looks in more detail at the implications for security, data standards and marketing when you are using or developing CiviCRM systems.
